Such a lineup of comics! (Oy, so funny, too.)

Sandy Hackett

Sandy Hackett

Sandy has been patiently waiting to entertain at Latkes & Laughs for over 40 years. During that time he wandered through the desert honing his skills waiting for his opportunity to show his people he could do more than just eat latkes. He developed a sense of humor watching the Golden State Warriors and as time passed and they improved so did Sandy. Now they are World Champions and Hackett is an accomplished comedian who has performed in some of the largest kibbutzes in the world. Sandy was inspired by legendary comedian, and his father, Buddy Hackett. Sandy graduated with a degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas where he beat the odds of 8 to 1 the Las Vegas bookmakers posted of him graduating.

Sandy is excited to finally do a show with Jeff Applebaum who finally offered Sandy a job after discovering both he and Sandy were NYU dads. Sandy is excited to appear at Temple Emanuel or anywhere he can get booked for that matter and is especially looking forward to this Hanukkah, performance celebrating the miracle of the oil lasting for 8 days. Sandy is normally good for one laugh and will be attempting to recreate the holiday miracle by getting 8 laughs. Should you come and see this show? Will it help? Sandy says “ It vouldn’t hurt!”

Jeff Applebaum

Jeff Applebaum

Jeff's comedy examines his particular life experiences, which include being the only white kid on his Little League team in Queens, having a Chinese wife, and raising children who call themselves "Jewnese," because it sounds better than "Chine-ish."

Jeff made his national U.S. TV debut on CBS as a comedian on the "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," appeared in "The Pursuit of Happyness" with Will Smith, on "America's Got Talent," and plays Joey Bishop in "The Rat Pack" tribute show. A frequent guest on KGO Radio, he has opened for and performed with comic legends Robert Klein, Richard Lewis, Robin Williams, Elayne Boosler, Kevin Pollak, Dana Carvey, and more. He is the co-creator of Latkes & Laughs.
